Data Platform Engineer

  • Your job in a nutshell

    As a Data Platform Engineer, you contribute to the further development of Jumbo’s modern data platform. You help shape a scalable platform by implementing governance standards that enable teams to work efficiently, and reliably with data.

  • What are we doing it for?

    You work within the Data Platform Governance team on further developing Jumbo’s modern cloud-based data platform. Together with your colleagues, you develop governance and platform standards, and automation that support the adoption and scalability of data across Jumbo.

    At Jumbo, data plays an important role in improving processes, customer experience, and decision-making. By making data discoverable, reliable, and governed at scale, you help teams across the organization work smarter and faster.

  • Who do you work with?

    You collaborate closely with data platform engineers, architects, and platform teams within the Tech & Data domain. In addition, you work together with data producers and data consumers on future-proof platform solutions.

As a Data Platform Engineer, you help shape scalable governance and platform solutions within a modern cloud data environment. You work on platform development, governance standards, and reliable platform capabilities.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining governance standards, quality standards, and access management;
  • Manage metadata across Jumbo's Unity Catalog;
  • Defining engineering standards and platform guidelines;
  • Building CI/CD workflows using GitHub and Terraform;
  • Improving scalability, observability, and reliability;
  • Making technical decisions around platform architecture;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple domains.

You will work within the Tech & Data domain at the Jumbo Tech Campus in Veghel. Here, we build and improve scalable cloud data solutions that support teams across the entire organization.
